Characters
Ashur Fecamp, Prince (NPC), Ventrue Ashur road into London after the Battle of Hastings, being one of the Normans who brought an end to Saxon rule. A few years later, he won a Praxis over a Saxon Gangrel Prince, and has ruled the city ever since. His public appearances have been scarce since the Anarchy rocked London, and he has not attended Winter Court in several years.
Hrothgar Goetland, Thane of London, Gangrel One of the oldest, and most trusted confidants of the Prince, the Thane (Sheriff) of London is an old Norman Gangrel. Old enough, at least, that his people used to be known as Viking raiders, and he is rumored to continue some of the old customs.
Rhys ap Dyfed, Keeper to the Prince, Nosferatu The Herald might speak the Princes words, and the Thane might protect his Domain, but the Keeper is the one who really runs his day to day affairs. Rhys came to the court of London from an old, Welsh background and tradition. And yet, he is a staunch supporter of the First Estate and the rule of Prince in the city.
Richard Talbot, Baron of Watling, Ventrue The eldest living progeny of Prince Ashur, Roland was embraced shortly after the Praxis of London, and was installed as a Baron just a few decades later. Several nights before the Winter Court, the Baron lead a party of Knights outside the walls of London, and destroyed several undesirable Kindred who had been poaching outside of the city.
Roland Bucher, Knight, Ventrue One of the Knights in service of the Fecamp family, Roland is the progeny of Richard Talbot. An accomplished swordsmen, he was one of those who were involved in the incident at St. Brides.
Rowen, Baron of St. Bartholomew, Ventrue The second eldest progeny of Prince Ashur, Rowen was embraced as a hunter and enforcer for the Norman Ventrue and earned a reputation for ruthlessness. He was one of the many Kindred who volunteered to go on Crusade, but returned two years later having only reached as far as Constantinople before turning back. In tow was a young progeny, Maud. After the Mekhet were turned out of the city, he took the Baron of St. Bartholomew for himself. One of the causalities of the Anarchy was Maud, who has not been seen since.
Audrey, Keeper to the Baron of St. Bartholomew, Nosferatu Audrey is one of the Nosferatu who have made their living above the sewers. She is a quiet force within the Court, known to be as intense, if not as boisterous, as her Baron. She handles many of the affairs not just his household, but of the Fecamp family at large.
Augstine, Herald to the Prince, Ventrue The youngest progeny of the Prince, Augstine is considered to be closer to his Sire then his brothers. The trust that Prince Ashur has placed in him is reflective of the fact that he has stood as Herald for the last several decades. He delivers his Sire’s summons and missives, and carries messages back to Montfichet's Castle.
Amelia Blys, Ventrue Chamberlain The progeny of Augstine, Amelia has spent her life among the Norman Court in London. From a young age, she helped set the social calendar for the Ventrue in the city, so it perhaps came as no surprise when she arose to the position of Chamberlain. The occasional sharpness of her tongue, however, has occasionally made waves – and lead to rumors connecting her to the disappearance of Maud.
Sybil de Tracy, Baron of Bishopgate, Daeva Like many Deava, the Baron of Bishopgate is a woman of utmost class and refinement. Unlike many Deava, she is not a woman known for great drama or temperament. She is, perhaps, the steady voice that keeps the calm within the Court. She has worked to make the Deava the social center of London society.
Viola Girard, Keeper to the Baron of Bishopgate, Mekhet There is little known about the Keeper to the Baron of Bishopgate. Of course, she is Mekhet, one who appeared in the city years after they were unofficially tossed out. She has remained under the protection of the Baron, which has been enough to keep her in London, but not without some suspicion.
Mul, The Baron of All Hallows, Gangrel The Baron of All Hallows is one of the old Saxon Gangrel, the guard who once ruled the city under a Gangrel Prince. When the dust cleared and the Norman Ventrue had taken the Praxis of the city, the Baron of All Hallows was given his position mostly as a way to keep the peace, a consilatory gesture. Some even felt that, perhap, he wouldn't last long in the position. But Gangrel are nothing if not survivors. And despite his temper, which is very well known, Mul has established himself as a fixture at Court.
Red Dragon (NPC), Unofficial Baron of the Under City, Nosferatu There are those who say that the Red Dragon is an old Welsh Nosferatu, who took his name after one of the legends of King Llud. There are others who say that it is a more physical description – that there is, indeed, a Nosferatu Dragon who lives under the city and runs his own, twisted, version of Court. Either way, the Red Dragon has been an antagonist in politics for some time, drawing to him those who can’t otherwise find a place in society.
Brother Edmund, Nosferatu Priscus The Red Dragon is never seen at Court, indeed, he is never seen above ground. Brother Edmund, then, has become known as both the head of the Nosferatu Clan in London and the voice for the Dragon. He is a quiet, soft spoken man whose interests have brought him within the orbit of the Lancea as much as it has the London Court. Those who lived through the Anarchy may remember Brother Edmund, as he served in the Baron of St. Bartholomew’s household for a time.
Ormond, Nosferatu There are some Nosferatu who rarely come above the surface. They remain under ground, in the Under City, content to dig tunnels and remain within their own community of Brother Worms. Ormond is one of those Nosferatu. So the fact that he RSVP'd his intention to attend Court is nothing short of, well, incredible.
Maethe, Ward of Ormond, Nosferatu Little is known about Maethe, one of the young Sister Worms who lives in the deep undercity. She's not reconized in the city, Winter Court is, in fact, her first time above ground.
Talan, Daeva Chamberlain While a native of the city, Talan took to traveling shortly after his embrace, eventually returning to London shortly after the Anarchy settled down. He has set up a hotel for those with particular tastes and needs, serving those who may be visiting the city. Winter Court has always been a busy time of year for him, and this year that is particularly true, as he is helping Lady Rowena host the gathering.
Lady Rowena (NPC), Daeva The Lady Rowena is known for her flair, for her drama, and for her charm. She is the owner of the Haynsworth House, one of the oldest standing Saxon estates in the city. Which is fitting, as she is one of the oldest remaining Saxon Kindred in the city. This year, the Chamberlains choose her play hostess to the Winter Court.
Theodora, Daeva Theordora is perhaps one of the few Daeva to keep largely to herself. Not that she doesn't occasionally attend court and other Daeva functions - she does. But she also seems rather cold, quiet, and reserved for one of her blood. It has been rumored by Nimue that she was once part of the Lancea, but if that's true, she has not attended mass in some time.
Nimue No one knows who Nimue really is. It is simply a name signed to poems and writings that are passed around the Court. However, few poets have had the effect on Kindred Society that Nimue has had. The missives from the Lady of the Lake have ranged from romantic ballads to scathing political satire. A discovered missive by Nimue has been enough to nearly derail careers or ruin relationships.
Bladen, Gangrel Bladen is an urban scavenger, one of those Gangrel who has made a living for himself off the streets. His pack patrols the All Hallows Barony and keeps the peace in the poor, lost parts of town. He is not a usual face among the Court, but these nights is seen more and more lurking about the sides.
Ynyr Brittanium, Gangrel Priscus Ynyr is something of a historic and legendary figure in the city. There are rumors that he was in London during the time of Rome, and that he has seen, at various points in time, many different Kindred come and go. He himself remains somewhat separated from the political battles in the city, usually taking a position that is neutral.
Clara Reade, Gangrel While she began her Kindred life on the streets, one of the savages who picked their way through allies and back streets, Clara has spent the last several years as an aid to Ynyr Brittanium. While there is still something of a feral look to her eyes, she has spent more and more time, as of late, at Court.
Nigel Alabaster, Bishop of London, Ventrue One of those rare Ventrue in London who is not descended from the Prince, Nigel has served as the Bishop of London for some time. He is a counselor of souls, and not just those from within his covenant.
Stephen, Paladin, Mekhet Those Mekhet who were members of the Church were not spared when the clan fell from grace. Indeed, those Mekhet who were members of the Lancea fell even under more suspicion then others. One of the Knights who had dedicated himself to the Church took the dramatic step of allowing his superiors to burn out his tongue, both to prove his dedication to his covenant and to ensure that the sort of blasphemy suspected of the Mekhet could never be uttered by him.
Tilthegn, Priest, Nosferatu There is a strong history of Nosferatu who are tied to the Church and the Lancea, and Tilthegn is part of that tradition. While he is relatively new to London, he has been around the area long enough that stories of the disfigured, tentacled priest with a strange knack for oratory preceded him.
Lyoness, Lancea Prioress, Daeva Everyone needs someone to help maintain the properties of the Lancea and serve as a connection between the Lancea and the Kine. The Prioress does this - and a little bit more. While she herself is usually found haunting around St. Helen's, her contacts among the city streach far and wide - from the alter to the bed chamber, one might say.
Eva Tailor, Mekhet A servant in the service of the Lancea, brought there by her Sire, Eva helps take care of those who care for the souls of others. She is tied to the Paladin, and often carries his messages for him. She is too young to have been able to earn a position of her own in the covenant, particularly considering her own Shadow heritage.
Aerwen, Osite Priestess, Ventrue While Osites exist throughout the Lancea, their rise in London has been something of a point of issue. Things have been further complicated by the fact that one of the central members of the Sect is the progeny of Bishop Nigel. She was never a particularly social creature even before spending so much time with the bodies of the dead. But the Osites provided her with a quiet place for complentation and study - and so, for now - the Bishop gives them space.
Thomas Graves, Osite Scholar, Mekhet Thomas is the very image of an unkept scholar-monk. His dedication to his faith is hardly in doubt - but some might say that he takes his devotion to his studies to near extremes. He is the least subtle of Kindred, with almost no interest at all in the living and little patience for those who play at mortal games.
Joan, Osite Priestess, Gangrel Not much is known about Joan. She has only recently arrived in London, and seems to be something of a contridiction. There are not many Gangrel, after all, among the Santified. And she seems to be a woman of good breeding and learning as well.
Vahan, Knight of the Holy Cross, Daeva Vahan is not local to London, he's a visitor who has taveled from Constantinople. It is rumored that he is a man of God, although definately not Santified. Although, if that is the case, then what he is doing with Baron Rowan is anyone's guess.
Cornelia, Lady of the Holy Cross, Daeva Cornelia is also a traveler to London, having arrived with her Sire, Vahan. She is also said to be a woman of great faith and kindess - the later part suggesting that she too is not one ofthe Santified.
