How can I get in touch with the ST Staff? The best way to contact the ST staff is to email us at ca-storytellers "at" googlegroups "dot" com. Your ST crew for this game is Jess, Kendra, and Alex, with Amber serving as our site babe, but individual emails to one of us might not get around to everyone.
We have also set up a list for the game itself, which you can feel free to join. Questions posted there will get answered for everyone, and its where game announcements will be sent once we get started. If you ask, we'll add you to it. Or, you can go to googlegroups and look for ca-list "at" googlegroups "dot" com. It is a private list, and membership needs approval.
Are you allowing people to create their own characters? And if so, how should they be submitted? We are encouraging people to create their own characters. This is a one-shot, and it is one with a particular background and theme. But we would rather work with people to create characters they are really interested in this simply pass out pre-gens. However, we have plenty of pre-gens on hand for those who want them.
Anyone interested in creating a character should email the ST staff for a Seneschal account. Characters will be created on line and approved through Seneschal. If you had a Seneschal log-in for Castles, it should still work. If you can't remember your Seneschal login, just ask and we'll reset it. Are there limits to the type of characters your accepting? The central theme of this game involves the idea of a Winter Court in London. Not every character needs to be a Saxon or a Norman, as the city was cosmopolitan enough to attract Kindred from across Europe. However, the majority of those attending the Court undoubtedly have some reason to do so, some stake in the local conflict, or some tie to the community of greater London.
While we are willing to entertain bloodlines, please note that this is a one shot, and we'd like to keep things as simple as possible. Because this is a clan-centric universe that we have created, and because the covenants either don't exist or don't exist as they do in a modren game, we are not going to spend a lot of time looking at any bloodline in any covenant book. How does character generation differ for a Dark Ages game? The main difference people will note is that there is no assumed covenant, or covenant benefit, to stats. The dark ages world is one with little structure to it, other then what the strongest of the Clans can impose on others. This is not to say, for example, that you can't play a character who is part of the Lancea. Or even Invictus. But if your playing an Invictus, you don't get an xp break on certain backgrounds. Likewise, Theban and all other types of "Blood Magic" can be learned through different means and methods, and mean different things to different Kindred. Characters with a reason for having these things simply need to provide that reason in their background.
Other then that, cgen is exactly what you would expect. There are some minor stat differences, and those can be found with our Character Generation rules.
Whats the expected power level of the characters? We are starting character generation with standard rules, plus 75 xp. However, people who submit character backgrounds by our background deadline, and those who take up certain roles within the game, will be given more. The ST staff will work with you on this once your background is submitted.
What's your expected timeline? We are looking to open the casting call for characters at the beginning of October. We will also have pre-gens available for anyone who wishes one.
Where are you running the game? The game will be run at the Zhou B. Art Center. It at 1029 W. 35th Street. There's a cafe with food, it has parking, is close to 90/94 and is near the 35th street stop for both the Red and Green lines. The bar will be open for us, but we are asking people to respect a 2 drink limit during game. What kind of background information are you expecting people to have coming in?Just a general knowledge of the Requiem rules and the information on this website. A knowledge of the dark ages may be helpful, but its not necessary. As part of this, though, we encourage people to check our our disclaimer about what this game is and isn't.
If you run two one shot games in six months, are they still one shots?Yea, they are. Or, at least, that's the way we are treating them. There have been great people who have been involved in making Conspiratus Angelorum games work. But one of the things that makes the games work so well is there is a huge amount of time and effort placed into them by the staff. Committing to a regular game, or even a regular schedule of occasional games, isn't possible at the moment. However, as long as there is interest, Conspirtaus Angelorum will continue to run them as schedules, timing, and life permits.
However, we do intend to keep a certain continuity going on. Events that happened in Castles have helped shape the background for Rex. What you do not just effects the current game, but may have lasting implications for other one shots we run. I had this character in Castles...In general, our timeline says that the Kindred who took part in the First Crusade, and who were in Jerusalem, perished. The mortals managed to survive and still hold the city, but the Kindred were destroyed. We are not completely adverse to discussing possibilities for a character you might have had in Castles, but we think you might have more fun playing a character designed for this particular game. |
